Run for a Good Cause at the Arlington Turkey Trot

December 4th, 2020
Enjoying thanksgiving dinner is so much easier when you know you earned it. You can do just that this year at the Arlington, VA 14th Annual Turkey Trot 5K. This annual fundraiser has raised over $800,000 the past 13 years and is looking to add to that figure with your help. The 5k is chip timed for an accurate reading of your run that morning. However, if running isn’t your thing you can always help by volunteering. They are accepting volunteers for packet pickup, water stations, course marshals, clean up and set up and more. If you’re too busy cooking to make it out that morning, there are donation options, as well.
The race was started in 2006 by Pastor Brian Webster and his wife Diane. They wanted to do good in their area and started the Turkey Trot, attracting 300 attendants the first year which has grown to thousands. This can easily be a family activity—kids are welcome and those under 6 years old are admitted for free. The 5K starts at 8 AM, make sure you register to get your new 2019 Turkey Trot tee shirt!
